Silicone Molding Processes:
Compression Molding
We like to say Compression Molding is like a big waffle maker. Raw high-consistency rubber silicone goes into each cavity and is squished with high heat, vacuum, and pressure to "cook" the material (aka vulcanize) into the final product. This mold was made by our tooler overseas, saving our customer a significant cost in tooling.
Transfer Molding
Transfer Molding is a simple way to better control your part's efficiency and flashing by putting the material into a pot at the top of the mold and ramming it with a plunger through runners built in the mold to fill the cavity with high pressure and vulcanize heat.
